The House
Our farmhouse dates back to 1906 and was built from local stone on 1.5 hectares (about 4 acres) of land. It is a traditional structure of the Haute-Loire where the living quarters are attached to an immense barn. It is set above the hamlet of L’Espinasson and faces the Forez Mountains to the East. Towards the West there are woods and meadows : walks at sunset are recommended.
Games Room
There is a games room with toys, board games, books and television available to both young an old for those rare rainy days.
Internet
A WiFi access is available throughout the house.
The Rooms
At L’Estive, parents and children are not split up: all the rooms are family rooms.
Shepherdess :
This ground floor room has wheelchair access and can accommodate 4 people (1 double and 2 single bunk beds). Its window faces East with a view over the village and the Forez Mountains. En-Suite bathroom. Internet access.
Hawker :
This ground floor room has separate access. It has wheelchair access and can accommodate 4 people (1 double and 2 single bunk beds). Its windows face West with views over meadows and woods. En-Suite bathroom. Internet access.
Bells :
This attic room can accommodate 3 people (1 double, 1 single bed). Its window faces West with views over meadows and woods. En-Suite bathroom. Internet access.
Adze :
This attic room can accommodate 4/5 people (2 twin beds, 2/3 single beds). Its window faces East with a view over the village and the Forez Mountains. En-Suite bathroom. Internet access.
Table d’Hôtes Dinner
On fine days (300, according to weather reports) you can enjoy a cocktail and watch the sun set from the terrace.
In the common room we will then serve traditional Auvergne dishes produced using local ingredients and fruits and
vegetables from our kitchen garden. After dinner guests can relax in front of the fireplace.
Breakfast is served between 08:00 and 10:00.
Camping for Ramblers
Ramblers, on foot or accompanied by animals, can choose between a bed & breakfast room or the campsite with sanitary in the house.
You can also partake of the table d’hôtes dinner if you wish.
A night under the stars is an unforgettable experience on the Plateau of La Chaise-Dieu.
